Travel to Vietnam under the MLC-MSME Recovery Network Post Covid-19 project

On Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., the research team led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pairoj Kanchanakarun Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nithi Partner, Head of the research project met to discuss and exchange ideas on the economic situation in Vietnam. In this meeting, The research team was welcomed by Mr. Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Chamber of Commerce and Industry. First, the chairman of the chamber welcomed the research team. Then, he talked about the economic situation, especially MSME in Vietnam.
The research team had the opportunity to ask questions on various issues such as: Expanding MSME trade cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam especially in industries that both parties share common interests such as manufacturing agriculture and technology including opportunities and things to know about investing in Vietnam including related regulations and policies which may affect investment from Thai businessmen Creating networks and platforms to promote connections between businesses in Thailand and Vietnam which may include joint events or conferences

In addition, they had the opportunity to ask the president of the chamber about problems or obstacles that may occur in doing business in Vietnam such as legal issues, taxes, freight transport and communication including methods that can solve these problems Vietnam's future economic development plans that may affect doing business such as developing infrastructure improving trade laws Or the promotion of new industries
Asst. Prof. Dr. Nithi Phathamman proposed the idea of organizing the exchange of information and experiences in business Education between the Chamber of Commerce and the Faculty of Economics to work together to support sustainability

At the end of the joint meeting, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pairat Kanchanakarn and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nithi Phathamman represented the research team in presenting souvenirs to Mr. Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a thank you.
